MTL operates ISO 14001-certified sustainability management for climate-neutral removals
Since 2024, we have been practicing environmental protection systematically and verifiably. This commitment is confirmed by ISO 14001 certification.
We calculate our company's carbon footprint with the help of Climate Partner and offset the calculated emissions through compensatory payments to selected environmental protection projects. We optimize the use of resources, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and ensure compliance with environmental protection regulations. Regular reviews of our work processes sharpen our awareness of sustainability and environmental protection as a continuous process. Since September 2024, continuous improvements and savings have already resulted in significant CO₂ reductions - a contribution to the targeted climate neutrality of the European economy, which is to be achieved by 2050. In addition, there is a new target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2040.
Which concrete measures does MTL take?
Training: Our packers are trained in the economical use of materials and energy.
Packaging: Whenever possible, we reuse clean packing material multiple times.
Waste: Waste from removals and from the office is professionally separated by us, and our own waste is reduced whenever possible.
Fleet: Our vehicle fleet is continuously renewed. In doing so, we pay attention to the environmental friendliness of the propulsion systems.
Routes: By optimizing driving routes, we reduce exhaust emissions.
Energy: We use solar power in the office; lighting in the office and warehouse is being completely converted to LED.
How can you contribute to making your move sustainable?
Reduce the moving volume: Dispose of, recycle, or donate items that you will not use in your new home. Upon request, we can handle the disposal of bulky waste at a recycling center. Reduce the carbon footprint of your move by supporting CO₂-reducing environmental projects. Upon request, we calculate the carbon footprint of your move and the offset payment suggested by Climate Partner to selected environmental projects.

How high is the offset payment for the climate neutrality of your move?
We calculate the carbon footprint of your move using a program from Climate Partner based on the following factors:
• Total volume of the move
• Distance covered during transport
• Fuel consumption of the truck
• Packing material used
• Other sources of CO₂ emissions (travel to and from the inspection, the crews, delivery of packing material, the setup and dismantling of a no-parking zone)
Based on the calculated carbon footprint, Climate Partner suggests the amount of the offset payment.

Examples:
A move with around 30 cbm of moving goods, typical for a two-person household, over a transport distance of 150 km, has a CO₂ footprint of approx. # kilograms of CO₂. This is offset by a contribution of #€ to a climate protection project at Climate Partner.
